Okay! Here we go its time to cook.
For today I cook sweet and sour tilapia,we all know that tilapia came from fish pond,and this fish is my all time favorite I remember all my office mate keep telling me that tilapia is the only fish I know,haha! Well,what can I do this is my favorite.
For this recipe ingredients are all basics which you can see on your pantry since this is a budget type of menu. Ingredients are:fish,oil,salt and pepper,carrot,onion,garlic,calamansi,tomato sauce,and sugar.
First clean the fish,then rub it with salt,you can add some pepper if you want depend on your taste preference.
In a clean pan,put some oil then deep fry the fish until it become golden brown.
While waiting for the fish to cook,I started to cut other ingredient,carrots,onion and three cloves of garlic. Also if you have a bell pepper you can add as a ingredients it will increase the aroma to your recipe.
As you can see the fish started to have a golden brown texture,then it is already cook,you can set it aside.
For the sauce,saute the garlic,onion and carrots,add water(water is depend on how many ml you want to add as long as it turns in saucy texture). Then add calamansi extract.(calamansi is a good alternative to lemon if you dont have lemon in your pantry,it also have a good source of vit.c), then add the tomato sauce( if you dont have tomato sauce ketchup is also a good alternative) lastly add some sugar depend on your taste again.
Time for plating,pour the sauce in to a plate with the fish. Then serve it with fresh cook rice!
You dont have to buy a bunch of ingredients to satisfy your appetite. Just try to be creative and make your own recipe but with a lower cost. :-)
